Michael A. Valvano

Newark—Michael A. Valvano, 80, died on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Geneva General Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at St. Michael Church in Newark, 401 S. Main St., Newark, NY. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to St. Michael Church, 401 S. Main St., Newark, NY 14513 or the Newark VFW Post 2883, 225 E. Union St., Newark, New York 14513

Mike was born in Canandaigua, NY on October 5, 1941, the son of the late Anthony and Sarah Crescibene Valvano. He was a graduate of Newark Senior High School, Class of 1960. After high school, he enlisted in the US Air force. Mike received his Computer Science through RIT. Heworked at CH Stuart and retired from Garlock. He was a member of the VFW, Post 2883, the American Legion, Post 286 and The Newark Elks Lodge #1249.

Mr. Valvano is survived by two daughters Anne (John) Tickner, Sarah (Greg) Adkins, two sons Anthony Valvano, David (Bobbi Jo Juliano) Valvano; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers Anthony and Carl Valvano.

He was predeceased by his wife Linda Criel Valvano in 2010 and his companion Josephine Naeye in 2020.
