Agnes T. Ferland (Allerton)

Newark—July 9, 2016 at age 92.

Predeceased by her parents R. Harrison and Alice Mary Smallidge Allerton, brother Robert S. Allerton, Sisters, Kate Borneman and Alice Mary “Holly” Allerton, and longtime childhood friend and sister-in-law Louise Bailey Allerton.

She is survived by her children Lynn J. Reese (Frank Burnett) of Rochester, Richard A. Ferland of Newark, Katejean Amato (Frank) of Rochester and Kristina F. Bald (Rick) of Newark, grandchildren Allen W. Reese (Kara), Catherine Senguen (Timur), Emily Whitehouse (Stuart), Sarah Humphrey (Bob), and Adam Bald (Sarah); five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Agnes was born in Palmyra on January 12, 1924. She worked many years as an aide at the Childrens' Building at the Newark Developmental Center. Besides her family, her lifelong passion was the family dairy farm and her iris gardens.

Friends may call at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday (July 13th) Her funeral service will immediately follow at 7 P.M. Interment will be private at Newark Cemetery.

Her family especially wishes to acknowledge the kind and caring staff on the Schultz Unit at DeMay Living Center who cared for Agnes for the last 8 years. Donations in Her memory can be directed to The Pallliative Care Room at DeMay Living Center, 100 Sunset Drive, Newark, New York 14513.
