Newark—Colby Lawrence George, 11, boarded the heaven train onThursday (April 30, 2015) at the Golisano Childrens Hospital at Strong in Rochester, with his loving family and friends surrounding him.

 

Friends may call from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday (May 3rd) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Monday (May 4th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial wil follow at the Fairville Cemetery.

 

Memorials, in his name, may be made to either the Golisano Childrens Hospital or the Childrens Heart Center at Strong, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, New York 14642.

 

Colby was born on May 1, 2003 at the FF Thompson Hospital in Canandiagua, the son of Robert “Robbie” and Jeanette Nier George.

 

He had been a sixth grader at the Newark Middle School. Colby was a very special boy whose passions where drawing and coloring, playing with trains, Wii, bowling and pestering his cats Tabby and Brina. He loved to travel over bridges and especially railroad tracks. Another of his joys was throwing rocks in water, any water. When it came to eating, his favorite was Pontillo's Pizza.

 

Colby is survived by his parents Robbie and Jeanette; his sister Sierra; his maternal grandparents Karen and Duane Gulick of Palmyra; Paternal grandparents Kenneth and Elizabeth “Herbie” George of Newark; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his second family at Golisano Childrens Hospital.
