Rochester—Howard O. Powell, 35, died Saturday (January 24, 2015) at his home.

Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. Sunday (February 1^st ) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, New York. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 4 PM

Howard was born on July 22, 1979 in Rochester, the son of Dennis and Lucille Granelli Powell. He attended schools in North Rose-Wolcott where Howard grew up. Howard was a computer technician. He loved to tinker with things taking them apart and putting them back together. He also liked hiking and the outdoors, taking pictures of animals as he went.

He is survived by his long time companion Barbara Heider, his parents Dennis and Lucille of Port Gibson, two sisters Alara Powell of Phelps and Naomi Powell of North Brunswick, NJ. and paternal grandmother Barbara Powell of Wolcott. Howard was predeceased by a sister Anna; grandparents Clayton Powell and Richard and Mildred Granelli.
