Newark—Philip F. Mc Grain, 70, died Monday (July 9, 2018) at his home.

Friends may call from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursday (July 12^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.

Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Finger Lakes Hematology & Oncology Center, 6 Ambulance Drive, Clifton Springs, New York 14432.

He was born on January 8, 1948 in Rochester, the son of Philip and Ramona Neelin Mc Grain. Phil had worked for several manufacturing companies over the years, the last being Newcut, Inc.

Philip is survived by three daughters, Laura (John) Bush of Walton, Jennifer (Jason) Deppen of Fairport and Heather (Michael) Simmons of Newark; five grandchildren Philip and Zachary Henning, Ella Deppen, LeaMarie and Michael Simmons; two great grandchildren Brianna and Caiden Henning; step-father Joe Scharett of Newark; step-brother Joseph (Danielle) Scharett of NC; step-sister Pat Scharett of Webster; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Ramona Scharett, his father Philp McGrain and a sister April Hoskins.
