Newark---Russell M. Bodine, 86, died Saturday (August 30, 2014) at his home in Fairville.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Friday (September 5^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Newark VFW at noon on Saturday (September  6^th) for a time of fellowship and lunch. Burial and private graveside services will be in Port Gibson Cemetery.

Mr. Bodine was born on August 2, 1928 in Clifton Springs, the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Russell Bodine. Russell was a life-long farmer and worked till just last year operating Bodine Farms. He was a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and the Wolcott Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine; two sons Robert (Virginia) and Andrew (Denise) both of Newark, daughters Deborah (Larry) Nichols of Willard and Shirley (Mark) Withey of Newark; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two nephews and friend Emily Castillo. Russell was predeceased by two sisters Irene Dickinson and Frances DeWeaver; a niece Linda Cook.
