Newark---Russell M. Bodine, 86, died Saturday (August 30, 2014) at his home in Fairville.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Friday (September 5th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Newark VFW at noon on Saturday (September  6th) for a time of fellowship and lunch. Burial and private graveside services will be in Port Gibson Cemetery.

 

Memorials, in his memory, may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, New York 14620; Parkinson's Foundation of Greater Rochester, PO Box 23204, Rochester, New York 14692 or the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489

 

Mr. Bodine was born on August 2, 1928 in Clifton Springs, the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Russell Bodine. Russell was a life-long farmer and worked till just last year operating Bodine Farms. He was a member of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and the Wolcott Elks Club.

 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine; two sons Robert (Virginia) and Andrew (Denise) both of Newark, daughters Deborah (Larry) Nichols of Willard and Shirley (Mark) Withey of Newark; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two nephews and friend Emily Castillo. Russell was predeceased by two sisters Irene Dickinson and Frances DeWeaver; a niece Linda Cook.
