Palmyra/Newark—Scott C. Heers, 44, died Sunday (October 22, 2017) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

Friend may call from 4 – 7 PM on Thursday (October 26^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A funeral service will be held a 2 PM on Friday (October 27^th) at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1000 South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Scott was born on October 4, 1973 in Newark, the son of the Darryl and Emily Bateman Heers. He did property maintance and was a self employed landscaper. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Scott had a passion for cooking, he enjoyed gardnering, selling his harvest or canning it. He loved walking his dogs and was a ardent Pittsburgh Steeler fan.

He is survived by his wife Sherri of Clyde; the mother of his children Julie of Geneva; his children Justin of Seneca Falls, Jarrin of Waterloo, Scott of Geneva, Seth of Geneva, Ayshia Heers of Geneva and Kiara Knaak of Manchester; two grandchildren Gabriel and Ariah Heers; his mother Emily Heers of Palmyra and father Darryl Heers of Phelps; four siblings Bret of Walworth, Todd of Palmyra, Ryan of Sarasota, FL, Heather Heers of Palmyra; several nieces and nephews. Scott was predeceased by a sister Tonya Heers.
