Gerald L. Stratton

Newark—Gerald L. Stratton ,65, died on Monday (September 18, 2017) at his home.

Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday ( Sept 24th) at the Paul L. Murphy and Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St. Newark, New York. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday (Sept. 25th) at 2 PM at the East Newark Cemetery.

Gerald was born on February 24, 1952 in Seneca Falls, the son of the late Lee and Mary Powell Stratton. He served in the Army during the Viet Nam War. While living in California, Gerry worked as a Emergency Medical Tech. He had worked at Spinco in Newark and was a self employed house painter.

He is survived by his loving partner Jonnie Hawes of Newark, a daughter Amber Jones of San Diego CA, a step-daughters Linda Pierce of Newark, Vicki Pierce of Shortsville and Elizabeth Redmond of Meridian, Miss.; brothers Leon Stratton of San Diego Ca., Antonio Ceravolo of Newark and Joseph Ceravolo of Lyons, four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. Gerald was predeceased by his sister Roni Jean Stratton in June of 2017.
