Newark—Ronald E. Howlett, 86, died on Sunday (June 23, 2019 at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date

Ron was born in Mars Hill, Maine on November 13, 1932, the son of the late Elmer and Muriel Brown Howlett. He grow-up in Maine and graduated from the University of Maine. He spent four years in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957.  Ron served with the Air Force Training Command at Sampson Air Force Base in Romulus. After his time in the service, Ron moved to Newark in 1958 where he taught 6 & 7 graded English for 36 years. He retired for the Newark Junior High School in 1994. Ron was active with the Teacher's Union and had served as the President for many years. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church.

Ron is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty (Cyr); two sons Brent (Jayne) of Canton, MI and Bart of Magnolia, TX; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings.
