Adams/Newark N.Y.—Vincent George Harnas, 86, died Friday (February 9, 2018) at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

All services will be private.

George was born on September 7, 1931 in Westfield, PA; the son of the late Thomas and Emily Mertock Harnas. He retired from Ballard Construction where he worked as an operator and master mechanic of construction equipment. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved the outdoors; cutting of firewood and mowing were two of his favorite activities. George had a special place in his heart for his grandkids and the time he spent with them. He was a stockholder in Pabst Blue Ribbon.

He is survived by his children Vncent Joseph Harnas of Adams, Gordon William(Margaret Kimpell) of Newark, Brian Scott Harnas of Tennesee, Pamela (Gary) Harnas McPeak of Kentucky, and Rebecca Jo Harnas of Adams; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Sue Carol Gordon Harnas; and his siblings Thomas Harnas, John Harnas, Mary Bliss, Elizabeth Coppola, Joseph Harnas, Eugene Harnas and Catherine Broschart.
