Rev. Daniel Taylor Benedict

Remembrances

Mrs. Benedict and family,

We were sorry to hear of the loss of your patriarch.  We have warm memories of visiting with you over the years to purchase corn.  The world needs more wonderful people like Rev. and Mrs. Benedict.

I can remember all our youth group meetings while he was in Genoa.  He was a wonderful man and will be missed by all.

Dear Mrs. Benedict and Family:

It is with great sadness that Reverend Benedict has passed.  For many years, while my family lived in Spring Lake, you and Reverend Benedict played a vital role in my family's life.  Reverend was there with my Mother when my two brothers died in 1965, Johnny in June and Paulie in September.  He helped my Mother through the separation of my Father and my Mother.  This was a most harrowing period in our lives, but Reverend Benedict's support, kindness, love and understanding helped us all navigate this journey.  Thank you.

A few years afterwards, it was with most heartfelt emotion that I had Revernd Benedict baptise my three children while he was serving at Genoa, N. Y.

All through these life events, our Lantern of Light and Support was always Reverend Benedict.  Our family is fewer in number now with the deaths of Dad (1990), Mother (2004), my sister's, Beverly (2008), June (2016) and Shirley (2017).  We celebrate their lives and the joy they shared.

Pease accept our condolences and sympathy on the loss of your loved one, Reverend Benedict.  He was a rare and blessed man and minister of the Gospel...And of life.

 Respectfully,

Irene Northrup-ZahosF

FamilyMatriarch and Great, Great-granddaughter of Solomon Northup

Reverend Benedict was a wonderful man.  He was the pastor at United Church of Genoa when i started going there.   He was the pastor there when i joined the church family.  He was supposed to be the pastor to marry my husband and myself 28 years ago but had to go to nicaraqua on a mission 2 weeks before the date and didn't know if he would be back in time.  He was there for my parents 40th wedding anniversary.  He was a part of our familly whether he knew it or not.  RIP Pastor B and Mrs. B and family yall are in our prayers daily.
