Alice Kneut
Newark—Alice Kneut, 85, died Monday (April 16, 2018) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends may call Thursday (April 19th) from 4-7 PM and on Saturday (April 21st) from 10-11 AM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, NY where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620.
Alice was born on June 22, 1932 in Glen Rogers, West Virginia, the daughter of the late John and Violet Stewart Moseley. She was a communicant of St. Michael Church. She was a shipping clerk for 41 years at Garlock, Inc., retiring in 1995. After retiring, she was a greeter at the Newark Ames Department Store. Alice was a member of the Palmyra Moose Club and the American War Moms. Her hobby was collecting Bentonware and ceramic and glass baskets. She also loved time with her family and cooking for family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Alice (Kevin) Casselman of Newark; her grandsons Gregory (Stephanie) DeBoerdere and Brandon (Karen) Tyler; six great grandchildren Hannah, Mikayla, Abram Olivia DeBoerdere, Damian and Dylan Tyler; two brothers Roy and Jerry Moseley; many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband Francis on January 31, 2015; five siblings Bill, Jack, Ted Moseley, Lucille Hall and Dixie Ferber.
The family wishes to give many thanks to all the provider at the DeMay Living Center and the Wayne County Nursing Home for their loving care given to Alice for the past several years.
