Newark—Alice M. Hathaway, 83, died on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Friends may call from 10AM to Noon on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark, NY 14513. A funeral service will follow at Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Alice was born in Penn Yan, NY on January 26, 1939, the daughter of the late Louis and Phoebe Crapo Hathaway. She was a graduate of the Arcadia School of Commerce. She retired from the Rochester City School district where she worked at the Central Kitchen as a meal planner. Alice loved animals, especially hummingbirds. She could always be found in her flower gardens.

She was looking forward to the day there would be no pain and she would get her new body in heaven and meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Alice is survived by two daughters, Valeree (Karl) DeMay, Kathleen(Doug) Hathaway; four sons, Merlyn (Robert Kelly) Casselman Jr., Joshua Casselman, Andrew Casselman, Michael (Sheila) Casselman; a daughter-in-law, Mary Casselman, eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a sister Dawn Sager. She was predeceased by her son Kevin Casselman and an infant brother.
