Macedon/Newark--Alice Weeks, 88, died Sunday (July 8, 2018) at the Newark Manor Nursing Home

Friends may call from 11 AM to 1 PM on Saturday (July 14^th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  A funeral service will follow at 1 PM and burial in the Baptist Rural Cemetery in Sodus Center.

Memorials, in her name, may be made to Laurel House Comfort Care, 224 Fair Street, Newark, New York 14513.

Alice was born on January 14, 1930 in Clifton Springs, the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret Brocke Boerman.    After graduating from Marion High School, she worked at Chaffee Department Store in Newark for a while, then for Garlock's in Palmyra.  After her marriage to Arthur Weeks, she lived in Lyons, where Art owned Wilprint.  When he sold the printing business, they moved to Macedon where they owned and operated a liquor store.

She is survived by a sister Diana (John) Dubler of Newark; four nieces and nephews; three great nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by a sister Dorothy Ocque and a brother Harold Boerman.
