Newark"Almera H. Wood, 84, of Vienna Street, died Sunday (October 23, 2005) at the Rochester General Hospital.

No prior calling. Those wishing may attend a graveside service at 1 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the East Newark Cemetery, Vienna Street, Newark.

Mrs. Wood was born on May 9, 1921 in Granville, New York the daughter of Mansir and Cora Shaffner Hicks. For many years, she was a accounting clerk at Mobil Chemical in Macedon, retiring in 1986.

She is survived by three sons Allan (Cathy) of Red Creek, John "Gary" (Debbie) of Palmyra, Charles "Chip" (Ann) of Penfield; a daughter Deborah (Kim) Allen of Newark, a daughter-in-law Bonnie Wood of Port Gibson, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Almera was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Herbert in 2004, two sons Herbert II in 1997 and Thomas in 1995, and four siblings.

The Family is being served by the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home.
