Newark---Andrew A. VanLaeken, 60, died Tuesday (March 13, 2007) at the St. Lucie Medical Center in St Lucie, Florida.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., on Friday (March 16th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Saturday (March 17th) at St. Michael's Church with Father Peter Clifford officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne's Cemetery in Palmyra.

Mr. VanLaeken was born on October 25, 1946 in Newark, the son of Andrew H. and Mary Jane Klem VanLaeken. For many years, Andy worked for the Verizon Telephone Company in Newark. He was a member of St. Michael's Church. Andy was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his parents, Andrew and Mary Jane of Walworth, four children Andrew "Drew" (Anna) of Winchester, Va., Sandra (Jeff) Smith of Winchester, Va., Jennifer (Keith) Tsutsui of Buffalo, Stacey VanLaeken of Buffalo; four grandchildren Andrew and Dylan VanLaeken, Jeffrey and Jayden Smith; his good friend Carol Keller, four siblings James (Irene) of Walworth, David (Barbara) VanLaeken of Walworth, Jane (Bruce) Davis of Rochester, Teresa (Leo) Blanco of Winchester, Va., several nieces and nephews
