Newark"Angeline Marie Genecco, 86, of Cooper City, Fla., died Friday (December 10, 2004) at the Broward Nursing & Rehab Center.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday (Dec. 16th), at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Friday (Dec 17th) at St. Michael Church. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.
Mrs. Genecco was born in Newark on October 20, 1918, the daughter of James and Mary Jelomono DeJohn. For many years, she owned and operated with her late husband Peter, the De John Superette on East Union Street in Newark. Before moving to Florida eighteen years ago, she was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and a member of the August Mauer Post American Legion Auxiliary.
Marie is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (James) Roberts of Cooper City, Fl., two granddaughters Mary (Steven) Flock and Christina (Robert) Ochampaugh, two great granddaughters Gabrelle Ochampaugh and Heather Flock; three brothers Ralph (Marie) De John of Bridgeton, NJ, Michael (Angie) De John and Louis (Phyllis) De John both of Newark, a sister Ann Lawson of Lyons, as sister-in-law Patricia DeJohn of Newark, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1982, a brother Thomas De John in 1997 and a sister Grace Bonafede in 1998.
