Newark---Ann D. Lawson, 84, died Friday (September 5, 2008)

at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Monday (Sept. 8, 2008) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Mark Brewer will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Tuesday (Sept. 9, 2008) at St. Michael's Church). Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to St. Michael's School,

325 South Main Street, New York 14513.

Mrs. Lawson was born on July 9, 1924, in Lyons the daughter of James and Mary Jelomono DeJohn. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Newark. Ann was a life long artist having had her painting on display throughout the area. She designed and painted many of the floats for the Rose Parade. Ann also had some

of her work featured in the "Better Homes and Garden" magazine

She is survived by two daughters Cynthia (Richard) Henry and Marianne (Randy) Grambo Wadhams both of Lyons, five grandchildren Benjamin and Geoffrey Grambo, Leigh Ann, Meredith and Claudia Henry, three brothers Ralph (Marie) DeJohn of Bridgeton, NJ, Michael (Angie) DeJohn and Louis (Phyllis) DeJohn and a sister-in-law Patty DeJohn all of Newark, several nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husbands Charles Caboor in 1967 and Frank Lawson in 2002, two sisters Marie Genecco and Grace Bonafede and a brother Thomas DeJohn..
