Port Gibson"Anna May Farnsworth, 97, died Monday (Jan. 2, 2006) at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Wednesday (Jan.4th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, New York. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery,
Memorials in her name may be made to the First United Methodist Church Living Memorial Fund, Box 189, Newark, New York 14513.
Mrs. Farnsworth was born on June 1, 1908, in Palmyra the daughter of Franklin and Mable Dennie Burke. She worked at the Newark State School, Garlock Inc. and for twenty years in the fabric department at JC Penny's in Newark, retiring in 1971. Anna had also helped her husband on their raspberry farm in Port Gibson. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Amitie Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters Lois (Frederick) Ludwig and Alma (Edward) O'Connor of Port Gibson and a son Wallace (Bonnie) of Clifton Springs, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great great granddaughters, many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her husband E Wallace in 1998, brothers George and Franklin Burke, sisters Ruth Suwyn, Arvilla Boerman and Mary Paige.
