Clyde/Newark"Anthony Celso, 89, died Saturday (June 3, 2006) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.

No prior calling hours. His nephew, Father B. Thomas Celso, will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Wednesday (June 7th) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be made to one's favorite charity.

Mr. Celso was born December 2, 1916, in Clyde, NY, the son of Vito and Madeline Marro Celso. For many years, Tony operated Celso's News Stand in Newark and after its closing, he operated dry cleaning businesses in Clyde and Newark with his brothers. Anthony was a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church in Clyde.

He is survived by a son David (Gilda) of Winter Springs, Fl., five grandchildren Scott, Ron, Brian, Nicole Celso and Jessica Valdez, a great grandson Ean; a brother Bernard Celso of Newark, three sisters Mary Pizzello of Canandaigua, Lucille Campanella of Los Angeles, and Teresa Carpenter of Tunkhannock, Pa., many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife Mildred, a son Richard, four brothers Ben, Rocco, Thomas and Richard Celso; five sisters Jane Sebastian, Emma Celso, Margaret Grezzo, Lena Zappia and Virginia DeMarco.

The family is being served by Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home.
