B. Rogers DeMeyers

Newark- B. Rogers DeMeyers, 83, died on Thursday (May 1, 2014) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 P.M. on Sunday (May 4^th ) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday (May 5th) at the Park Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Park Presbyterian Church, 110 Maple Court, Newark, New York 14513.

Mr DeMeyers was born on April 24, 1931 in Joy, New York and graduated from Newark High School in 1950. He was a 53 year member and a Deacon of the Park Presbyterian Church. A Funeral Director, Roger was a long time employee at both the Schultz Funeral Home and the Schultz Furniture Store here in Newark. In his retirement, he delivered flowers for Flowers Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsie Thomas DeMeyers; three children Marcia (Salvatore) Famolaro of Holley, Barbara (Joseph) Schmidt of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Thomas (Daphne) of Victor; four beloved grandchildren Colin and Jillian Schmidt, Hayden and Jackson DeMeyers; three sisters Connie (Bob) Tack, Suzanne (Jim) Kline, Marilyn Monje all of Newark; a brother Larry (Pam) of Augusta, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Roger was predeceased by his mother Katherine DeMeyers.
