No prior calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday (May 1st) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.

Mrs. Derks was born in Newark on December 5, 1939, the daughter of Jerome and Doris Ellenwood Miller. Barb had graduated from the North Rose-Wolcott High School.

She survived by her daughter Debra Palmer of Newark, a son Mark (Debi) Derks of Simi Valley, CA., four grandsons Preston and Garrett Palmer, Lance and Bradley Derks; her mother Doris Miller of Rose, two sisters Anne (Charley) Supple of Long Beach, CA., Janice (Al) Webster of Webster; two brothers Ross Miller of Webster and Paul (Debbie) Miller of Wolcott, an aunt Gladys Bastian of Rose and a sister-in-law Eunice Buss of Palmyra. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Robert A. Derks on November 30, 2001.
