Newark---Barbara Perkins Stuart, 84, of Sarasota, FL., formerly of Newark, New York died on Sunday May 13, 2012.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 3:30 P.M. on Friday (May 25th) at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 400 South Main Street, Newark.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to the Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association, P.O. Box 117, Sodus Point, New York 14555.
In 1987, she graduated from Nazareth College in Pittsford, New York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Barbara was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and was active in many church and community activities while living in Newark. In Sarasota, Barbara volunteered as a Registered Nurse at the Senior Friendship Medical Center and was an active supporter of the Sarasota Opera House, the Sarasota Orchestra and Historic Spanish Point Landmark Museum.
Barbara is by survived her son Hank (Mary) Stuart of Rochester, New York; a daughter Jane (Dick) Possee of Pittsford, New York; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister Dr. Ruth P. Walter of Malibu, CA.; seven nephews and seven nieces. She was predeceased by her husband Charles William Stuart on November 20, 1996 and her sisters Dorothy Ryersbach and Jeanne Quinn.
