Newark—Bernice G. Casselman, 81, died Tuesday (October 4, 2011) at the Newark-Manor Nursing Home.

            Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, today (October 6, 2011) at the Paul L. Murphy Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark where funeral services will be at 11 AM on Friday.

            Memorials in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620.

            Mrs. Casselman was born January 19, 1930 in Clyde, the daughter of the late Neeper and Elizabeth Hendershot Carnell.  She had worked at the Newark Developmental Center for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1986.       

            She is survived by a son Mark (Amy); two daughters Wanda (John) Crowley of Newark and Patricia (Randy) Turner of Gainesville, FL; two grandsons Jim Crowley and Tom Turner; great grandchildren Kayla, Katie, Courtney and Olivia; a sister Audrey Meeks of Lyons.  Bernice was predeceased by her husband Howard in 2001, a sister Esther Coonrod, brothers Marvin “Buck”, Lee and Kenneth Carnell.
