Billy Moseley
Newark—Billy Moseley, 74, died Saturday (September 5, 2009) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 7 PM on Thursday (September 10, 2009) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark, with Rev. Daniel Benedict officiating Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Cranberry, West Virginia.
Memorial contributions, in Billy’s name, may to made to the August Mauer Post American Legion, the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW or to a charity of your choice.
Mr. Moseley was born September 12, 1934 in Glen Rogers, West Virginia, the son of John and Violet Stewart Moseley. He had worked for Jackson & Perkins and Mobil Chemical before working thirty one years for the Village of Newark as a heavy equipment operator. Billy served in Korea with the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of both the Arcadia Memorial Post VFW and the August Mauer Post American Legion. While at Mobil, he played on the baseball team and bowling league. He coached little league baseball in Newark and was an ardent hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Lafferty) Moseley, a son Michael (Susan Miller) of Lyons, two granddaughters Danielle and Taylor, sisters Alice (Francis) Kneut of Newark, Dixie (Tony) Ferber of Clifton Springs, brothers Jack (Margaret) of Fairville, W. VA, Roy (Maggie) and Jerry (Barbara) of Bassett, Virginia, several nieces and nephews. Billy was predeceased by a brother Ted and a sister Lucille Hall.
