Carl W. Soliman
Newark/Marion—Carl W. “Bomber” Soliman, 74, died Friday (December 1, 2017) from complications due to frontotemporal dementia, at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital with his wife at his side.
A private graveside service will be conducted by Father Jeffrey Tunnicliff from St Michael Catholic Church and with full military honors. A Memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489..
Carl was born on November 10, 1943 in Newark, the son of the late Carl S. and Falista Haers Soliman. He was a truck driver for Rochester Block and Oldcastle for 32 years. Upon retiring he owned and operated Bed & Biscuits Kennel along with his wife for 22 years. He loved all the dogs that came to visit and spent much of his time entertaining his four-legged guest. Bomber was known for helping anyone he came in contact with. Carl served in the US Army and spent one year in Vietnam. He was lifetime member of the Arcadia Post 2883 VFW ans served with
their Color Guard for many years. He was a member of the August Mauer Post 285 American Legion and a lifetime member of the Wayne County Humane Society.
Carl is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie, his sister C. Elaine Soliman and Aunt Margaret Soverhill, a niece and nephews, cousins and a special friend Richard Petty.
Marie wishes her sincere thanks to the staff of Newark Wayne Community Hospital, the Canandaigua VA, the Lifetime Care and the Fairville Fire Department's ambulance crew for all the care and support that was given.
