Newark –Carol Miller, 86, died Monday (January 5, 2010) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.

          Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Friday (January 8th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. on Saturday (January 9th) at St. Michael’s Church, South Main Street, Newark.  Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

          Memorials in her name may be made to St. Michael’s Church, 401 South Main Street, Newark, New York 14513.

          Mrs. Miller was born in Newark on January 23, 1923, the daughter of Ross and Helen “Nell” Grieve Warner.  She graduated from Newark High School and the Rochester Business Institute.  She had worked at Clifton Springs Hospital for over 30 years in the medical records department.  Carol was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens.  She loved to play the piano and played at several area nursing homes and adult care facilities.

She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Richard) Young of Pittsford and Katherine Musgrave of Clifton Springs, a son Fred “Chip” (Ann Bastian) Miller of Canandaigua , six grandchildren Michael and Steven Vanderwege, Susan and Jeremy Musgrave, Matthew and Amy Miller, six great grandchildren, a sister Martha Jane Bain of Palmyra.  She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1995 and a sister Janet Hause in 2009.
