Carole “Nana” Braman
Newark--- Carole Braman, 87, passed away on (Tuesday) September 18, 2012, with her loving family by her side.
A private service will be held at the family’s convenience.
Memorial contributions, in her honor, may be made to the Friends for the Day Program, P.O. Box 111, Newark, NY 14513.
Carole was born on May 1, 1925 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the daughter of Oscar and Jennie Leon Bensteadt. From 1967 until it closed, she was employed at Sarah Coventry in Newark, she then became a caregiver/aide for the Finger Lakes DDSO. Carole also had worked at the Roosevelt Children’s Center and Candy Apple Preschool. Nana was active in the Foster Grandparent and Friends for the Day Program. She loved art, music and books, most of all she loved working with children.
She is survived by son David (Mary Beth) Braman of Palmyra; daughters Linda Braman of Palmyra, Diane Conrad of Waterbury, CT and Dee (Andrew) Bodine of Newark; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Carole was predeceased by infant daughters Christine and the twin sister of Dee; son Lewis “Skip” in 1999 and great grandson Diazen Joshua in 2005.
