Cecil L. Decker
Newark/Marion ---Cecil L. Decker, 79, died Saturday (April 13. 2013) at the DeMay Living Center in Newark.
Friends may call from 6 -9 P.M. on Tuesday (April 16th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday (April 17th) at the funeral home. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery, with full military honors.
Mr. Decker was born April 14, 1933 in Seneca Falls and graduated from Mynderse Academy. He had worked at Gould Pump in Seneca Falls, Hartman Electronics in Victor and for over thirty years at the Newark Development Center, retiring in 1998. Cecil served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the August Mauer Post #285, American Legion where he had been commander several time and was on the board of trustees. Cecil was a Past Master of the Newark Grange as well as serving on its board and was a member of the Arcadia Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Lucile; two sons Ivan (Marie Alice) Decker of Waterloo and Dan Decker of CA; three step-children Terry Lee of Marion, Tammy Lewis of Branchport and Mark (Kelly) Lee of Newark; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two sisters Delores (Andy) DeLyser and Doreen (Sherman) DeLyser both of Newark; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Toni Marie Campanello
