Newark-Claire M. Snyder, 95, died Thursday (August 14, 2014) at her home in Newark.
Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. on Sunday (August 17th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Felix Dalimpuo at 10 AM on Monday (August 18^th) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva.

Mrs. Snyder was born on March 14,1917 in Geneva, the daughter of Edward and Julia Healy McIvor. She was a graduate of Phelps High School and the Rochester Business Institute. Claire worked many years in the family business, Mc Ivor Kraut in Oakcorners and later for the Village of Newark. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church and a member of the Rosary and Altar Society. Claire enjoyed golf and had been a member of the Newark Country Club.

She is survived by two daughters Julia (David Shulters) Snyder of Medford, MA and Patricia (Carlton) Timerson of Newark; two sons Robert A. (Sandra) and Michael (Mary Jean Miller) both of Newark; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Claire was predeceased by her husband of 58 years Robert B. in 2001 and seven siblings.
