Daisy Ross
Phelps/Geneva—Daisy Ross, 89, died Friday (February 17, 2017) at her home.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 PM on Monday (February 20th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday (February 21st) at St. Francis Catholic Church, 130 Exchange Street, Geneva, New York. Burial will follow at the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Oaks Corners.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Rochester Chapter, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, New York 14620.
Daisy was born March 13, 1927, the thirteenth child of James and Madelina Baker Clark. She was a graduate of Phelps High School and for many years, was a secretary in the Geneva School District. Daisy was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Geneva. She enjoyed using her artistic talents, oil painting. Daisy loved the out of doors, especially bird watching and being at her camp in Canada.
Daisy is survived by her children Mary Lou Ross of Phelps, Paul Ross of Phelps, Cindy (Mark) Rowe of Newark, Lou Ann (Joe) Commesso of Geneva; step-children Lorna (Phil) Shoemaker of Farmington and Bart (Sue) Ross of CA; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Louis P. Ross and twelve older siblings.
