David G. Wemett

Newark"David Wemett, 61, of Oak Drive, died on Tuesday (October 17, 2006) at the Clifton Springs Hospital.

Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday (October 19th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Friday (October 20th) at the Park Presbyterian Church, Maple Court, Newark with Rev. John Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, New York 14489.

Mr. Wemett was born September 23, 1945 in Clifton Springs, the son of Roy A. and Edith Chapman Wemett. He had worked in the family canning business for several years, operated a Suzuki Motorcycle Shop in Newark and was an electrician before his retirement. Dave had been a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, the Wayne County Motorcycle Club, the August Mauer Post American Legion and the Newark Rotary. He served in the US Air Force from 1966 to 1969. David lived his life to the maximum whether it was the theater, motorcycle racing or traveling the world. Whatever he did it was with his whole heart and he will be remembered for his enthusiasm, commitment and generosity.

He is survived by his wife Martha "Marty", a son Christopher (Maria) of Berkeley Heights, NJ; three grandchildren Isabella, Matthew and Nicholas; his mother Edith Wemett of Nokomis, Fl., a brother Paul (Sarah) Wemett of Newark and a sister Martha Hueter of Nokomis, Fl.
