David O. Congdon
Wolcott/Newark—David O. Congdon, 80, died Tuesday (August 4, 2015) at the Syracuce Veteran Hospital after fighting a short courageous battle with cancer.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 P.M. on Sunday (August 9th ) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 4P.M. Burial will be in the Sampson Veteran Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Congdon was born on November 11, 1934, in Pierrepont, New York, the son of Glenn and Beulah Tryon Congdon. He served his country in the USArmy as a paratrooper from 1955 to 1958. David was a driver for Fuji Photo's in Albany.
He was predeceased by his parents, a sister Gloria Verbridge and a niece Laura Dowd. David is survived by his daughter Tammy Hill, four grandchildren Heather, Jason, Jory, and Jenalena; ten great grandchildren all of Texas; siblings Calvin (Dolly), Marilyn, Bob (Cheryl), Vernon (Janice), Roger, Timothy (Kathy) Danford and Patrick; several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all his family;
