Newark---Donald J. Maugiri, Sr., 73, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

A private service was held at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford. 

Donald was born in Newark, NY on July 14, 1948, the son of the late Anthony and Margaret Logosh Maugiri.  He served in the US Army, as an active duty and as a reservist from 1967 to 1993. On September 12, 1970, he married Eleanor Pagano.  He was a drill sergeant and instructor for the 98^th combat engineers and for many years he was a machinist at Gleason Works.  In 2008, he retired as a machinist from Garlock in Palmyra.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Eleanor; two daughters Christina (Robert) Weston of Rochester and Michelle (Gregory) Maroni of CT., a son Don (Kelly) Maugiri Jr. of Baldwinsville; four grandchildren Chiara and Teresa Maugiri and Christopher and Patrick Maroni; two sister-in-laws Carol Maugiri and Ermelinda (Peter) Salerno. He was predeceased by two sisters Susan Bunce and Diane Maugiri; and a brother Anthony Maugiri.
