Newark---Donald K. Blackman, 73, died Thursday (July 3, 2008) at

his home on West Avenue.

Friends may call Monday (July 7) from 12-2 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Bothell officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in his name may be made to Maranatha Baptist Church, 8721 Travell Road, Lyons, New York 14489.

Mr. Blackman was born on September 6, 1934, in Newark, the

son of Peter A. and Verna Keir Blackman. He had worked for Jackson & Perkins, Sarah Coventry, Ultralife Battery and retired from the Newark Wayne Community Hospital in 1996. Donald enjoyed his daily walks around Newark.

He is survived by his brother Robert (Anne) Blackman, a special cousin Beverly Bush, several other cousins and many friends.
