Doris L. Krocke
Newark---Doris L. Krocke, 93, died Tuesday (May 15, 2012) at the Newark Manor Nursing Home.
Friends and family are invited to a funeral service at 11 A.M. on Saturday (May 19th) at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, East Miller Street, Newark. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
Memorials, in her name, may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Krocke was born on January 16, 1919 in the Town of Arcadia, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Fonmer Martin. She was a graduate of Newark High School, Class of 1939. Doris was a cook at the Newark Manor Nursing Home for eighteen years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she also helped in the kitchen. One of the original volunteers in the community’s Free Lunch Program at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, she gave of her time and talent for over 25 years. Along with her husband, Doris also had volunteered for Meal on Wheels for ten years. She loved to crochet and do crafts and was a long time member of the Home Bureau.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Edward; her daughter Linda (Bill) Pariseau of Fairport; four grandchildren Christian Krocke, Carly and Jason Pariseau and Mackenzie (Kyle) Roach; three great grandchildren Ethan Roach, Colesie and Matthew Pariseau; a sister Jean (Peter) Krocke of Marion. Doris was predeceased by her son Gary in 1983 and a twin sister at birth Dorothy Mae.
