Newark/Clifton Springs"Dorothy Derr, 81, died Tuesday (February 26, 2008) at the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY.

Calling hours will be on Thursday (Feb. 28) from 5 to 8 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home 127 East Miller Street in Newark. A Memorial Service will be held Friday (Feb. 29) at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St Agnes Cemetery, Clifton Springs, NY.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Robert C. Stell Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Newark Sr. High School, 625 Peirson Ave., Newark, NY 14513.

Dorothy was born on September 21, 1926 in Perinton, NY the daughter of Elliot S. and Florence M. Sackett Crump. She graduated valedictorian of the Pittsford High School class of 1944. Dorothy worked for many years at Wayne Plaza Drugs in Newark. She was a member of the East Palmyra Presbyterian Church. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, reading, playing cards and spending time with her great grandchildren.

Mrs. Derr is survived by daughter Carol (Paul) Moore of Clayton, NY, granddaughter Meredith; son Scott Lent of Fairport, NY granddaughter Ashley; daughter Amy (Craig) Stell of Clifton Springs granddaughter Kristin (Joshua) Springer; daughter Joan (Fred) Noteboom of Ithaca granddaughters Julie (Joe) Presicci and Lisa Hamilton; sister Joyce Dehmler of Brighton, NY and three great grandchildren

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Nelson and grandson Robert Stell.
