Newark/The Villages, Fl—Edith “Edie” Ann Miller, 71, formerly of Newark, passed on from this life Tuesday (July 28, 2015) in Florida.
A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial condtributions, may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation (wish.org)
Edith was born in Newark on January 19, 1944, the daughter of late Clifford and Philomena (Roesch) Mooney. She was a 30 year school bus drilver for the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District. She was first and foremost a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Edie was proud of her husband and family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy leaving fond memories of lots of hugs, dress ups and playing trains. Edith possessed a caring heart for all people, making all she met feel welcomed. She moved to The Villages in 2004 from Newark. Edie loved dancing in the square, golf cart riding, feeding the turles at R.J. Gators and bringing her dog to the Dog Park. She enjoyed being a gate attendant at the Alhambra Gate, being a Village Ambasador to all and dedicated to the Community Watch.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William C. Miller; son William (Larry) Miller of The Villages; daughters Jennifer (Jason) Schafer of VA, Julie (Richard) Senatore of MD, Autumn (Paul) Cole of Newark, Wendy (Joe) Stromine of Ontario, Kandi Miller of Wolcott; three brothers Clifford (Peggy) of NJ, Dr. Stephen (Charlotte) and Kevin (Lynne) of Newark; sister Sharon (William) DeRuyter of NC. Edith leaves 14 grandchildren.
