Edward Krocke
Newark---Edward Krocke, 96, died on Sunday (March 1, 2015) at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Friends and family are invited to a funeral service at 11 A.M. on Friday (March 6th) at the Emmanuel Methodist Church, Corner 301 East Miller Street, Newark. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 301 East Miller Street, Newark, New York 14513.
Mr. Krocke was born on May 18, 1918 in Palmyra, the son of the late John and Dina Van Hagen Krocke. He was a electrician and mechanic for 26 years at the Newark State School, retiring in 1980. While working at the State School, Ed also owned and operated a farm on Minsteed Road. He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church where he gave many hours of his handyman talents. Ed was one of the original volunteers of the Community's Free Lunch Program at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church helpng for over 25 years. Along with his wife Doris, he volunteered for ten years for Meals on Wheels Program. An outdoors-man, he had been a member of the Newark Rod and Gun Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his daughter Linda (Bill) Pariseau of Fairport; four grandchildren Christian Krocke, Carly Pariseau, Jason Pariseau and Mackenzie (Kyle) Roach; Three great grandchildren Ethan Roach, Colesie and Matthew Pariseau; a brother Peter (Jean) of Marion; several nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Doris in 2012, son Gary in 1983; siblings Tuena Fisher, Josephine Anderson and Earl Huisman.
