Newark"Edward T. Brockhuizen, 72, of Grace Ave., died at his home with his family on Friday (September 23, 2005).
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Sunday (September 25th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday (September 26th) at the Park Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mr. Brockhuizen was born in East Palmyra on August 4, 1933, the son of Herman and Adriana Robbe Brockhuizen. He retired from the State of New York as a Building Inspector in 1988. Carpentry projects took up much of Ed's spare time, however the Newark Elks Lodge was another place to call home. As a trustee for many years "Brock" proved that he embodied all that a cherished and giving Elk can be, by being named "Elk of the year" for 2004-2005
He is survived by his two daughters Vicki (Bill) Stramonine of Newark, Gina (Michael) Salisbury of Fairport, three sons, Steven (Liliane) of Fredericksburg VA, Edward II (Melanie) of Newark, Todd (Lisa) of Macedon, eleven grandchildren Megan, Justin, Elliott, Jenna, Kaitlyn, Edward III, Todd II, Felicity, Alexandra, Rachel, and Zachary, two great grandchildren Cheyenne and Gage, a brother Robert (Deanna) of Newark, two sisters Cora (Ken) Graham of Port Gibson and Minnie VanKouwenberg of Palmyra NJ, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed was predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1996 and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
