Edward D. Toye (Tanker)

Sodus"Edward D. Toye, 70, passed away on Saturday (April 7, 2007) at Wayne County Nursing Home.

No prior calling hours. Memorial services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday (April 14th) at the Fairville Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Watkins officiating. Burial will at the convenience of the family at the Baptist Rural Cemetery in Sodus Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in his name to the Fairville Fire Department Ambulance Fund, 2963 Rt. 88, Newark, New York 14513.

Mr. Toye was born in Wallington on November 8, 1936, the son of Edward and Ethel Duncan Toye. He worked for over 37 years, with the Wayne County Highway Department where he was a heavy equipment operator. Tanker was a member of the Fairville Presbyterian Church and for 52 years, a member of the Wallington Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Katherine (Pratt), a son Dale (Amy), a grandson Joshua, a granddaughter Jessica and a grand-dog Brandy all of Sodus, a sister Nancy (Carlo) Rios of Lyons, a brother Richard (Barbara) VanGys of Pottsville, Pa., several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Ethel in 1985 and his father Edward on March 27, 2007.
