Newark/Clifton Springs---Elizabeth Dennis, 88, died Friday(April 8, 2005) at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-8:30 PM on Monday (Apr. 11th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 8:30 PM with the Rev. Dr. Elton O. Smith, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Dennis was born September 24, 1916, in Angelica, New York the daughter of William and Marie Lehman Gaus. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Newark. Betty enjoyed quilting, as well as raising horses with her late husband Walter, who died in 1985.

She is survived by two sons Alan (Karen) of Evanston, Ill and Brent (Tina) of Phelps, Three granddaughters Cary, Amanda, and Kirby Dennis, a brother Albert (Betty) Gaus of Fredonia and several nieces and nephews.
