Newark"Elizabeth "Liz" Ferris, 90, died Monday (October 10, 2005) at the Pines of Peace in Ontario.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Thursday (October 13th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Friday (Oct. 14th) at St. Michael's Church. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mrs. Ferris was born in Newark on September 30, 1915, the daughter of Jacob and Amelia Landschoot DePauw. Liz was a life long resident of Newark and graduated from Newark High School in 1933. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. An ardent bridge player, Liz belonged to several Bridge Clubs and had been a member of the Wayne Hill Country Club. She had actively volunteered with numerous organizations over the years.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Willard "Jess", her daughter Amy Herbert of Fairport and many friends.
