Newark"Elma Davis, 88, died Monday (January 24, 2005) at the DeMay Living Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 P .M. on Saturday (January 29, 2005) at the Emmanuel Methodist Church, East Miller Street, Newark with the Rev. Carlos Smith, officiating. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to ones favorite charity.

Mrs. Davis was born on September 24, 1916, in Rochester, New York the daughter of Ernest and Lula Brisee DuBois. She was a linen room assistant at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for 35 years, retiring in 1981. Elma was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church.

Mrs. Davis is survived by two daughters Virginia (Alfanso) Nieves and Patricia (Carl) Boden, son Llewellyn (Terry) Davis all of Newark, a stepson Allan (Margaret) Davis of Wellsboro, Pa., fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harry L Davis in 1987

The family is being served by the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home.
