Newark/Lyons ---Ethel M. George, 84, died Tuesday (November 30, 2004) at the Clifton Springs Hospital.
Friends may call Thursday (Dec. 2nd) from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St, in Newark. Father Peter Clifford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM on Friday (Dec. 3rd) at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark, New York. Burial will be in S. Lyons Cemetery
Memorials in her name may be made to the Kevin George Memorial Award C/O Newark Central Schools, 100 E. Miller St. Newark, NY 14513 or to the Memorial Fund at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905
Mrs. George was born on June 19, 1920, in Newark, the daughter of Edward and Mary Bomeline DeCook. She graduated from Newark High School in 1938. Ethel was a dedicated and loving mother and wife. In 1976, she moved to Florida and lived there for 24 years. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Newark.
Mrs. George is survived by, two sons Kenneth (Herbie) George of Fairville, Karl (Debbe Young) George of Clyde, three daughters Karen (James) Bolich of Conover, NC, Kathleen (Paul) Jansen of Clifton Springs, Kay (Michael) Mammano of Lyons; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ethel was predeceased by her husbands Lynn George in 1967 and Chester George in 1992, a son Kevin in 1974 and eleven brothers and sisters.
