Newark/Savannah"Florence Irene Thompson, 92, died Tuesday (March 22, 2005) at the DeMay Living Center.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Friday (Mar. 25th) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Funeral services will be at the funeral home a 1 PM on Saturday (Mar. 26th). Burial will be in Huron Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609.

Mrs. Thompson was born January 19, 1913, in Sodus the daughter of Frank and Anna Wolvin Gilluly. For many years, she and her husband operated the Thompson IGA in Savannah They retired in 1977.

She is survived by two sons William "Tommy" (Kathy) of Lyons and Michael of Newark, a daughter Sharon Matthews of Sanford, Fl., five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, a sister Thelma Krickmire of Watertown, nieces and nephews Florence was predeceased by her husband William George Thompson in 1996.
