Siler, 81, died on Tuesday (July 29, 2008), at the Newark-Wayne Community
Hospital.
Friends may call Friday (August 1st)
from 4 " 8 PM at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller
Street, Newark. Father Mark Brewer will
celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM on Saturday (August 2nd))
at St. Michael's Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Mr. Siler was born on February 12,1927
in Newark, the son of John and Anna Vanderbrook
Siler. He entered the Army upon
graduating from Newark High School in 1945 and served with the occupational
forces in Germany. Fran and his wife Sue
would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on August 19th. He had worked at Bloomer Bros. in Newark, and
Voplex in Rochester.
In 1992, he retired from Rendoll Paper in
Rochester where he had worked for over 20 years as assistant plant
manager. In his retirement, Fran worked
for three years at D'Amico Plumbing in Geneva. He was a communicant of St. Michl's Church where he had been an usher for many
years. Fran was a 60 years member of the
Newark Fire Department, New York Central Hose Company #5 and a life member of
the Newark Elks Club. He was a member of
the August Mauer Post American Legion and Arcadia
Memorial Post VFW.
He is survived by his wife Assunta
"Sue" Siler, a daughter Denise Barry of Liverpool, seven grandchildren Alene Clark, John Anthony Siler, Ryan and Sean Barry, Neil,
Jennifer and Devon Siler , four great grandchildren, a brother Richard
(Dolores) of Newark, several nieces and nephews. Fran was predeceased by his parents, a son
Jeffrey, a sister Cora Johnston, two brothers John Jr. and Hubert.
