Francis H. Barker Clifton Springs/Newark--Francis H. Barker, 88, died Sunday (December 1, 2013) at Rochester General Hospital. No prior calling hours. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday (December 12, 2013) at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 6632 Rt 96A, Romulus, New York. Memorials, in his name, may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Mr. Barker was born on November 11, 1925, in Clyde the son of William and Frances Rockwell Barker. He was working at Jackson and Perkins Nursery before his induction into the US Army in March of 1944. Francis served during World War II in the European Theater. He was a bobst operator for Bloomer Brothers & Fiber Board in Newark for twenty years and then at the Great Lakes Press in Rochester for another twenty years. He is survived by his six children, Cynthia (Thomas) Neill of Newark, Gregory Barker of Newark, Patricia (Richard) Davis of Newark, Susan (Junior) Echevarria of Newark, Janet (Michael) Prichard of Clifton Springs and Nancy (Patrick) Murray of Newark; eignteen grandchildren and many great grand children; his brother James (Betsy) Barker of South Bulter; nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by his wife Barbara in 2008; three brothers William, Douglas and Harry Barker and a sister Diana Reid.
