Newark---Francis A. Kneut, 79, died on Saturday (January 31, 2015) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. on Tuesday (February 3rd) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday (February 4
th ) at St. Michael Church, South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.

Memorials, in his name, may be made to the American Heart Association 3500 Winton Place, Rochester, New York 14623.

Mr. Kneut was born in Phelps on September 8, 1935, the son of Bert and Katherine Blackman Kneut. He attended Newark High School and was a communicant of St. Michael Church. Fran loved doing mechanical work and he managed Scofield Service Station for 25 years until it closed. He then worked at Sarah Coventry and later at DeRoo Foods until poor health forced him to retire. In his retirement, he worked part time at P & C Foods. He was a member of the Palmyra Moose Club and the American War Dads. Fran enjoyed gardening and other outdoor work. For many years, he was a CB Radio enthusiast using the handle “Cisco”

A devoted husband and family man, Fran is survived by his wife of 59 years Alice; daughter Mary Alice (Kevin) Casselman of Newark; two grandsons Gregory DeBoerdere and Brandon Tyler; five great grandchildren Olivia, Abram, Mikayla, Hannah DeBoerdere and Damian Tyler; two brothers Kenneth (Lena) of Port St. Lucie, Fl. and Bernard (Doris) of Newark; a sister Doris Secor of Tucson, AZ; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brothers Edward and Harold.
