Frank Muoio
Newark ---Frank Muoio, 84, died Monday (December 31, 2012) at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Friends may call 4 to 7 P.M. on Friday (January. 4, 2013) at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M., on Saturday (January 5th) at St. Michael’s Church 401 South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
Mr. Muoio was born in Cerisano, Italy on September 9, 1928, the son of late Luigi and Theresa Basile Muoio. He came to the United States at age 7 and moved to Newark a couple of years later, graduating from Newark High School in 1947. Frank continued his education at the Rochester Business Institute and received a degree in accounting in 1950. He served in the US Army for two years and had been stationed in Germany. He and his cousin Joe Santoro built and operated the Midway Motor Court on Rt. 31 East. From 1962 until his retirement in 1991, he worked in sales and service for John Bilotta Enterprises. Frank was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, a member of the August Mauer Post American Legion, and a member of the Newark Elks Lodge.
Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years Rose, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a daughter Theresa Rose Muoio in 1979and his twin brother Antonio Muoio in 1998
